Girls Go Wild

The Fabulous Thunderbirds

About “Girls Go Wild”

Often referred as ‘Girls Go Wild’ due to the prominence of the sentence in the front cover, “The Fabulous Thunderbirds” is the eponymous debut studio LP by Texas blues rock band The Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Recorded during May, 1979 at Sumet-Bernet Sound Studios in Dallas, Texas; and released on October 29, 1979 through Chrysalis Records, the album initially didn’t sell much but is nowadays considered as a classic of the late 70’s/early 80’s Austin blues scene.

This first studio formation of the Texas band was integrated by Kim Wilson on vocals and harmonica, Jimmie Vaughan on guitar, Keith Ferguson on bass and Mike Buck on drums.

In the year 2000, Benchmark Recordings released a CD reissue with 3 previously unreleased bonus tracks: “Look Whatcha Done”, “Please Don’t Lie To Me” and “Things I Forgot To Do”.
