“It’s My Life” is the title track to Talk Talk’s sophomore album. It became their only top 40 hit in the US and reached #13 in the UK. The song is about a man in a relationship with a woman who is seeing someone else, and seems to be both wilfully ignorant yet all too conscious of it.

It was accompanied by an iconic music video showing varieties of animals, spliced together from various nature documentaries as a protest against lip-syncing commonly used in hit music videos.

Another music video was made at the request of EMI, ironically being the entire first video on a green screen behind the members performing and lip-syncing, albeit poorly and comically as a form of protest.
