Young Love (1961 Re-Record) Lyrics

[Verse 1]
They say for every boy and girl
There's just one love in this whole world
And I know I've found mine

The heavenly touch of your embrace
Tells me no one could take your place
Ever in my heart

[Chorus: Tab Hunter]
Young love, first love (Young love, first love)
Filled with true devotion

Young love, our love (Young love, our love)
We share with deep emotion

[Verse 2]
Just one kiss from your sweet lips
Will tell me that you love is real
And I can feel that it's true
We will vow to one another
There will never be another
Love for you or for me

[Chorus: Tab Hunter]
Young love, first love (Young love, first love)
Filled with true devotion

Young love, our love (Young love, our love)
We share with deep emotion

About

Genius Annotation

Re-recorded in 1961, “Young Love” was the song that sky-rocketed famous actor Tab Hunter into a music career. A cover of Sonny James’s hit song, it would go so far as to knock Elvis Presley for the number one spot on the Billboard charts, maintaining the rank for a month and a half.

First recorded for Dot Records, Hunter would be forced to make music under the new label Warner Records, which was created for him, as he was under contract with Warner Brothers. This version of his hit 1957 song was recorded for Warner Records, to not much recognition.

The original song can be found here.
