On “Self Love”, the first official collaboration between Metro Boomin and Coi Leray, Coi details her meaning of love, and how she is it at the center of it.

While also reflecting upon how far she has made it from the suburbs of Massachusetts, Coi alludes to the story of Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. More specifically, how Gwen left her own universe in search of belonging, whilst trying to repair her relationship with Miles Morales, a difficult task.

“Self Love” was teased across various social media platforms during May of 2023 in promotion of the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, and soon released with the album.
