She Drives Me Crazy Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I can't stop the way I feel
Things you do don't seem real
Tell me what you've got in mind
'Cause we're running out of time
Won't you ever set me free?
This waiting 'round's killing me

[Chorus]
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself

[Verse 2]
I can't get any rest
People say I'm obsessed
Everything you say is lies
But to me, there's no surprise
What I had for you was true
Things go wrong, they always do

[Chorus]
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
[Instrumental Break]

[Bridge]
I won't make it on my own
No one likes to be alone

[Chorus]
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself

[Outro]
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself

Genius Answer

David Z created “She Drives Me Crazy”’s iconic snare:

I took the head off a snare drum and started whacking it with a wooden ruler, recording it through a Shure 57 microphone.

As I did that, I started twisting the hell out of the [API 550] EQ around 1 kHz on it, to the point where it was starting to sound more like a crash. I blended that with a snare I found in the Linn itself, which was a 12-bit machine, so it sounded pretty edgy to start with

This interview is from Mixonline, which continues:

But the coup de grace for the sound was when Z pumped the processed and blended sample through an Auratone speaker set upside down atop another snare drum, which rattled the metal snares and gave the result some ambience and even more high end.
