After Ocean’s Eleven brought Elvis Presley’s “A Little Less Conversation” into contemporary attention in 2001, Dutch DJ Junkie XL started scratching to it in clubs, and then decided to make a remix of it for a high-profile Nike commercial in anticipation of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

The Elvis estate granted him the permission, but with the caveat of eventually crediting the DJ as “JXL” because they didn’t like connecting The King with drug connotations. The remix was then included in the Elvis compilation ELV1S as a bonus track, and released as a single that reached #1 in many charts, including the UK (leading Elvis to break the chart-topper tie he had with The Beatles 25 years after his death). An extended remix featured in the single was also put by Junkie XL in his album Radio JXL.
