Sleep Walk Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Sleep walk
Instead of dreaming, I sleep walk
'Cause I lost you and now what am I to do
Can't believe that we're through

[Verse 2]
Sleep talk
'Cause I miss you, I sleep talk
While the memory of you lingers like a song
Darling, I was so wrong

[Bridge]
The night fills my lonely place
I see your face spin through my brain
I know, I want you so
I still love you and it drives me insane

[Verse 3]
Sleep walk
Every night I just sleep walk
Please come back
And when you walk inside the door
I will sleep walk no more

Genius Annotation

“Sleep Walk” was originally an instrumental steel guitar-based song written by Santo & Johnny, which was recorded and released in 1959.

Betsy Brye recorded Sleepwalk in 1959. This release included lyrics that were sung over Santo and Johnny’s original tune and arrangement.

The song “Sleepwalking (Couples Only Dance Prom Night)” by the band Modest Mouse, from their 1996 EP Interstate 8, also uses the same tune and general arrangement.
