The song that I chose to write is by Ritchie Valens “Come on Lets go” the music is a rock type genre of music. The song is created by an extremely famous figure that was killed in a plane crash. Ritchie Valens was a Chicano that grew up in California who grew up working as a farm worker. Ritchie grew up with nothing and became a shooting star where his music is heard by many.  He died at the age of 17, which was a tragedy for the Chicano community seeing such a young and talented man to die.

I chose this song specifically because that this song talks about life and love. This song really gets to me because such a talented individual that had so much potential died at such a young age. This reminds me of all those that are were my age that were killed through the years, and what potential they had and now we will never know what good they could have done, The art of life and death is so mysterious and it can happen to the best of us without any warning. It saddens me that Ritchie’s career was cut short, as many of those who I knew that died like Steve, Robert, and more that missed their kids being born, cross the stage at graduation. But their memory will live on, like Ritchie through his music, a legend that can be related to all of us. To dedicate this song to someone I can’t do that for the fact that it constantly moves and each part from the lyrics and beat is different and unique in its own way as we are all. In a sense this song can relate to you and I and anyone else who reads this.
