Common Name The Striking Bulbophyllum - In China Cai Se Juan Ban Lan - In Thailand Singto Lueang

Flower Size 2 1/2" [2.5 to 5 cm]

Found in Yunnan province of China, Assam, Myanmar and Thailand to Vietnam in primary montane forests at altitudes of 900 to 1550 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte found on deciduous trees or on the ground below them in bright light from with ovoid, angular, dark green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, linear-oblong, obtuse, leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, ascending, 5 to 10" [12 to 25 cm] long, slender, bracteate inflorescence that arises from an older pseudobulb and has 5 to 10 umbellate, fragrant, hirsute flowers.

Does well on treefern or cork mounts in moderate bright light with cool to warm temperatures and water while growing and a lessening as growth matures.
